ego lite is a browser built for AI agents to run automation alongside your own browsing. Agents work in isolated Spaces within the same browser, so they never interrupt you. It inherits your Chrome data and uses code-based tools for faster, cheaper runs. It is free and requires no configuration.
Key Features
- Code-based tools instead of CLI commands, enabling faster runs and fewer tokens for complex tasks.
- Dedicated isolated Space for each agent, so you and your agents work in parallel without conflict.
- Parallel multitasking: multiple agents can run different tasks in separate Spaces simultaneously.
- High-quality page snapshots that handle deeply nested iframes reliably.
- Any agent CLI can drive the browser via the ego-browser skill, exposing in-page JavaScript tools.
Use Cases
- Running parallel data enrichment tasks, e.g., Claude Code enriching leads in multiple Spaces.
- Scraping competitor websites with Codex in separate Spaces.
- Automating repetitive browser workflows while you continue browsing normally.
Getting Started
- Download the macOS app from the provided links, or install the ego-browser skill via npx skills add citrolabs/ego-lite. On first launch, choose to migrate Chrome data to inherit logins and cookies. Then use /ego-browser in your agent CLI to start tasks.
Deployment & Requirements
- Currently supports macOS (Apple Silicon and Intel). Windows closed beta is coming soon, with Linux on the roadmap. Requires an agent CLI (e.g., Claude Code, Codex) to drive the browser via the ego-browser skill.
