Grok Build

Overview

Grok Build is SpaceXAI's terminal-based AI coding agent. It runs as a full-screen TUI that understands your codebase, edits files, executes shell commands, searches the web, and manages long-running tasks. It supports interactive use, headless operation for scripting and CI, and embedding in editors via the Agent Client Protocol (ACP). The project is written in Rust and synced periodically from the SpaceXAI monorepo.

Getting Started

• Install the released binary via curl -fsSL https://x\.ai/cli/install\.sh | bash (macOS/Linux/Git Bash) or irm https://x\.ai/cli/install\.ps1 | iex (Windows PowerShell), then run grok --version. Alternatively, build from source with Rust and DotSlash; see the repository for details.

Deployment & Requirements

• Prebuilt binaries are available for macOS, Linux, and Windows. Building from source requires Rust, DotSlash, and protoc. macOS and Linux are supported build hosts; Windows builds are best-effort and not currently tested. First launch opens the browser for authentication.
