HyperFrames is an open-source framework and video editor built for agents. It turns HTML, CSS, media, and seekable animations into deterministic MP4 videos that can be authored locally with the CLI, through AI coding agents with skills, or through hosted authoring workflows. The project also provides a desktop Studio app, a catalog of reusable blocks and components, and packages for rendering, previewing, and editing compositions.
Key Features
- HTML-native compositions use HTML files with data attributes for timing, tracks, and media instead of a proprietary timeline format.
- Agent skills teach coding agents the HyperFrames production loop: plan the video, write valid HTML, wire seekable animations, add media, lint, preview, and render.
- Deterministic rendering seeks each frame in headless Chrome and encodes the result with FFmpeg, so the same input produces the same video.
- Adapter-based animation supports GSAP, CSS animations, Lottie, Three.js, Anime.js, WAAPI, or a custom runtime.
- CLI workflows include init, lint, check, snapshot, preview, render, publish, and doctor commands, plus cloud and AWS Lambda rendering paths.
- A desktop Studio app and catalog provide previewing, editing, and reusable blocks or components for transitions, overlays, captions, charts, maps, and effects.
Use Cases
- Product launch videos and feature announcements.
- PR walkthroughs with animated code diffs, narration, and captions.
- Data visualizations, chart races, and map animations.
- Social videos with kinetic captions, overlays, and music.
Getting Started
- With an AI coding agent, install the versioned plugin using claude plugin marketplace add heygen-com/hyperframes and claude plugin install hyperframes@hyperframes, or use npx skills add heygen-com/hyperframes for standalone skills. Manually with the CLI, run npx hyperframes init
Deployment & Requirements
- CLI use requires Node.js 22+ and FFmpeg. Desktop builds are available for macOS and Linux, while Windows and Windows ARM64 are coming soon. Enterprise deployment is available. AWS Lambda rendering is available for distributed render stacks, and rendering can run locally or in
