Pebrel (formerly Nebula) is a native desktop workspace that brings local shells, remote hosts, files, and AI command-line tools together. It is built with Rust and GPUI for Windows, macOS, and Linux and arranges terminals in tabs and splits so users can follow agent activity and read output without leaving the application.
Key Features
- Terminal tabs and draggable split panes with per-pane working directories and saved workspace layouts.
- SSH host management with saved hosts, SSH config aliases, proxy and jump-host options, private-key and keyboard-interactive authentication, host-key verification, and SFTP transfers.
- AI CLI workflow support for Claude Code, Codex, and other recognized CLIs, with activity states, notifications tied to source panes, and captured answer reading.
- Intelligent completion from Git repositories, project scripts, SSH config, and the filesystem, plus registered WSL distributions on Windows.
- GPU-accelerated GPUI interface with light and dark themes, opacity controls, eleven UI language choices, searchable settings, a command palette, and Lua configuration with validation and live reload.
- Native Markdown document tabs and mathematical typesetting without a WebView.
Use Cases
- Managing local shells and remote SSH/SFTP sessions in one desktop workspace.
- Running and monitoring Claude Code, Codex, or other AI CLIs in split panes with notifications and answer reading.
