Plannotator

Overview

Plannotator is a locally running tool for reviewing and annotating plans and code produced by AI coding agents. It intercepts plan approval steps, provides a diff viewer for agent-written code, and sends structured feedback back to the agent. It also includes agent skills for HTML artifacts, wireframes, interactive prototypes, plans, and diagrams.

• Code review: PR-style diff viewer for local diffs or GitHub/GitLab PRs, with side-by-side or unified view and line-level annotations.

Use Cases

• Review an agent's proposed plan before execution: annotate inline, mark deletions, add comments or replacements, then approve or deny with structured feedback.
• Review agent-written code before committing: run /plannotator-review to see uncommitted changes in a diff viewer, add line-level suggestions, and stage or unstage files.
• Share annotated plans and code feedback with a team using local data, link sharing, or the hosted Workspaces layer.
• Annotate the agent's last message or any markdown, spec/plan, folder, or URL using /plannotator-annotate or /plannotator-last.

Getting Started

• Install Plannotator locally with: curl -fsSL https://plannotator\.ai/install\.sh | bash
• In Claude Code, add the marketplace with /plugin marketplace add backnotprop/plannotator, install with /plugin install plannotator@plannotator, then restart Claude Code to activate hooks.
• Use /plannotator-annotate <file|dir|url> to annotate any markdown, spec/plan, folder, or URL and send feedback.
• Use /plannotator-review [PR_URL] for code review of local diffs or GitHub/GitLab pull requests.
• Use /plannotator-last to annotate the agent's last message.

Deployment & Requirements

• Runs locally.
• Integrates with Claude Code, OpenCode, Pi, Codex, and VS Code; works with any agent that supports plan mode.
