ccstatusline is a status line formatter for Claude Code CLI that displays model information, Git branch, token usage, session cost, usage metrics, timers, and other session data in the terminal. It includes a TUI for configuring widgets, layouts, colors, themes, and Powerline-style separators.
Key Features
- Powerline mode with arrow separators, customizable caps, built-in themes, and auto-alignment across multiple status lines.
- Widgets covering model info, Git and JJ status, branches, worktrees, pull requests, CI checks, token and context metrics, usage windows, reset timers, session cost, memory, voice status, vim mode, sandbox status, and more.
- TUI configuration for widget selection, labels, symbols, colors, gradients, separators, padding, flex modes, and line layouts.
- Support for multiple status lines, full-width layouts, raw-value mode, global minimalist mode, custom commands, custom text, links, and configurable number formatting.
- Config import/export to JSON with validation and preview, plus version pinning for global installs.
- Cross-platform terminal support including Windows-specific handling and macOS usage lookup improvements.
Use Cases
- Customize the Claude Code CLI status line to show model, branch, token usage, and session metrics at a glance.
- Build Powerline-styled terminal status lines with themes and aligned multi-line layouts.
- Monitor Git or JJ repository state, pull requests, CI checks, and worktree details from the status line.
- Track usage windows, reset timers, costs, cache metrics, and context usage during Claude Code sessions.
Before You Adopt
- License: MIT. Review its terms before using, modifying, or distributing the project.
- Moving from an auto-updating install requires uninstalling through the TUI before reinstalling with the version pinning flow.
- Cached Git commands are bounded by a five-second timeout so stalled Git invocations cannot block the status line indefinitely.
- Invalid settings files are not overwritten; defaults render in memory and an invalid-config warning is shown.
- Uninstalling preserves ccstatusline settings.
